Hamida Ag Fano
The rhythm of wandering souls, born in the Sahara
Hamida Ag Fano is a Tuareg singer and guitarist from Kidal, in northern Mali. Rooted in the vast landscapes of the Sahara, his music blends desert blues, folk melodies and ancestral poetry, carried by a voice shaped by exile, memory and resilience.
Through hypnotic guitar lines and deeply personal lyrics, Hamida tells stories of nomadic life, freedom and survival, a music both intimate and universal, where tradition meets contemporary expression.
His songs echo the paths of wandering souls, connecting the ancient spirit of the desert to the present moment.

Project Overview
Hamida’s music lives at the intersection of tradition and introspection. Rather than desert blues or electric rock, his songs unfold in a quieter, more spacious world, where rhythm is born from breath, memory, and motion.
His compositions reflect the nomadic experience: constant movement, inner stillness, and the fragile beauty of a life guided by the horizon.

“I liked Abriditran from the beginning, with its guitar playing reminiscent of Ali Farka Touré. The song brings together African melodies, rhythmic depth and traditional singing. The entrance of the choir fills the sound with open voices and a rich blend of low and high tones. Excellent arrangements and perfect execution.”
— Radio Graviola, Brazil
“Listening to Abriditran for the first time, I was drawn deeply into Hamida Ag Fano’s melancholy and soul. A hypnotic musical journey through desert life, combining sweet guitar lines, rhythmic drumming and a haunting voice. Even while recalling artists like Tinariwen or Etran de L’Aïr, Hamida Ag Fano stands out with a strong voice and a refined musical identity.”
— FreshlyCut, Worldwide Festival (France)
